I hesitated a lot before subscribing to the last year of the Master of Science in Global Health of the University of Manchester, partly because I could walk out after two years of courses with a post graduate diploma and also because I did not want to start again writing a master thesis five years after having written my first one. My father convinced me to subscribe anyway. However, during the first semester, before the assignment of thesis supervisors, I was completely lost between starting to draft a structure to the essay, choosing a feasible and interesting research subject, the ethics application, etc. Fortunately, I had the chance to be assigned to Dr Lisa Danquah, who supported me, giving me clear indications on the directions to follow. She also broke down the work I needed to do in clear steps and helped me thoroughly in writing the thesis. I do not think I could have finished the master thesis work without her, and I could never thank her enough!
